For years, the No Frills on Front Street has been a lifeline for the working-class areas of Moss Park and The Esplanade. In a city of unaffordable groceries, the relative (keyword 'relative') affordability of no-frills can be of unimaginable importance.
Yet, developers and OUR city government allow for a food desert in the near future for this neighbourhood.
Seemingly small, this story was covered by the compass to show that everyday survival for the working class in Toronto is constantly under threat, even in the most mundane ways.
